In a word- yes! Much like other areas of your body, your ears can suffer wear and tear; not only can they become stretched when weighed down by heavy earrings, the skin also thins with age and skin damage, for example, from excess UV exposure damaging the collagen. This leads to longer, thinner and droopy looking earlobes which can make people feel self-conscious.

At the London Cosmetic Clinic we can offer a minor surgical procedure that repairs damaged earlobes and helps to restore their previous appearance. This treatment is suitable for earlobes that have been stretched and elongated as well as enlarged ear piercing holes. A local anaesthetic is administered before a small amount of skin is removed from the edges of the damaged earlobe to ‘freshen’ it. The earlobe is then gently stitched together and covered with a small bandage which you can remove after a couple of hours.

This procedure is performed in-house and you are free to go home once it is completed. You will need to apply an antibiotic cream until the stitches are removed as well as cleaning the area with a saline solution. From then on you will need to keep your earlobes clean and dry until they are completely healed. This helps to reduce the risk of infection and scarring. It is also advised that you avoid getting your earlobes wet for 3 to 4 days after treatment so you will not be able to wash your hair during this period.

The treated area may feel hard but the skin will soften as it heals. If you want to re-pierce  your ears, you should wait at least 6 months after the treatment. There may be a tiny scar but this will be barely visible if you take care of your earlobes after the treatment. Misshapen earlobes can look unsightly and add years to your appearance but with our earlobe repair treatment you can sweep your hair up with confidence again.

Can I Fix my Damaged Earlobes?

Strong, defined eyebrows are a perfect way to define your face, highlight your eyes and enhance your facial bone structure. However, some women lack this definition as they’re fair haired, have previously over-plucked their eyebrows or have lost hairs due to illness, medication or age. Instead of spending time and effort using eyebrow pencils or powders every day, you can get long lasting definition with the use of semi-permanent eyebrow tattoos, also known as micro-pigmentation.

Using a tattooing technique, tiny amounts of pigment are deposited into the skin to either simulate the effect of hair strands or as a fine colour mist depending on your existing eyebrows, face shape and colourings and desired results. Before treatment, a numbing agent is applied to the area to minimise discomfort and you should avoid certain treatments such as eyebrow waxing, eyebrow tinting, muscle relaxant treatments and hair removal treatments in the weeks leading up to your eyebrow enhancement treatment.

Do not be alarmed if the colour appears to be very strong or dark after your eyebrow enhancement treatment; the colour will settle within a couple of weeks. It is advised that you apply a barrier cream such as petroleum jelly to aid the healing process and use a strong SPF as the skin around the area may be more prone to UV damage and over-exposure to the sun’s rays can break down the pigment. Any redness, itching or swelling should subside within 48 hours of the treatment and it is important that you do not scratch or pick at your eyebrows.

You can enjoy your new look for 3 to 4 years and then can decide whether or not to have a top-up treatment. Your eyebrows can instantly give you a striking, glamourous new look, boost your confidence and liberate you from applying makeup every day.

Semi-Permanent Eyebrow Tattoos

Your skin is made up of many different layers, the outer most of which is the epidermis; this can thin with age and lose its plumpness, leading to a saggy appearance around the face, usually around the jaw line and cheeks. Some people are more prone to this than others due to various factors such as genetics and weight fluctuations and it is extremely hard to fix this with exercises and topical treatments so surgery is often the only option.

We are extremely excited to be able to offer the innovative Silhouette Soft face lift, also known as the ‘lunch break face lift’ as it takes just 30 minutes. Unlike old fashioned face lifts, the Silhouette Soft face lift doesn’t require invasive surgery, looks natural, doesn’t require any recovery time and encourages the skin to heal itself.

Developed in the USA and based off of the suture suspension that is sometimes used in reconstructive surgery, the Silhouette soft face lift uses bidirectional absorbable thread cones to lift the skin and instantly make it look younger, plumper and smoother. It can be used on the eyebrows, jaw, cheeks and cheekbones as well as the contours of your face and the neck, an area that a lot of other treatments cannot help. The threads are inserted 3-5mm under the skin’s surface after a local anaesthetic has been administered and these dissolve over time. As well as the instant lifting effect, the thread face lift encourages the skin to produce its own collagen as the threads are made from polylactic acid which is biocompatible with human skin and stimulates the deeper layers of the skin.

The results last around 18 months and you can achieve a lifted and rejuvenated appearance that looks natural without cuts or scarring and without undergoing invasive surgery or having down time afterwards.

What is the Silhouette Soft Face Lift?

As we get older, our skin naturally ages too but some of us are concerned that the effects of premature aging are adding years to our appearance. Every day some of your skin cells die and are replaced by new ones but this process can get slowed down when the skin is damaged by excess sun exposure. This leads to premature aging, signs of which include fine lines and wrinkles, age spots (also known as liver spots), hyperpigmentation, a sallow complexion, roughness and unevenness, redness in the skin and loss of elasticity.

At the London Cosmetic Clinic we specialise in making you look amazing and are proud to be able to offer the Omagi skin care system, which is very effective and has a reputation for giving great results. Developed back in 1988 by acclaimed dermatologist Dr Zein.E Omagi and a team of other leading experts, the Omagi skin care system is a range of pharmaceutical strength products that penetrate the deeper layers of your skin and encourage your skin to shed old, dead cells and replace them with new cells, resulting in fresh, smooth, rejuvenated skin.
Whilst some websites may claim to sell Omagi skincare products, you cannot guarantee that they are the genuine article as they can only be sold through licensed professionals, which is why it is available to go to a specialist cosmetic clinic such as ourselves. We also thoroughly assess your skin and advise you how to use the system safely and effectively.

As it is a prescription-strength treatment that effectively works as a skin peel, you may experience some redness, itchiness and dryness as the skin rids itself of old, dead skin cells. You will start to see results within 6 weeks and you will need to visit us for follow up appointments to assess and monitor the progression of your skin. It is very important that you use a very high SPF sunscreen both during treatment and after to prevent any damage to your skin.

The various Omagi systems can be used alone or with each other and during your assessment we will advise the best course of action. The result is smoother, more evenly pigmented skin that looks younger and fresher. You can continue to use the products to maintain the condition of your skin.

The Omagi Radiance Peel

One of the most sought-after cosmetic procedures is rhinoplasty, usually an invasive surgical procedure that involves reshaping either the bridge or the tip of the nose. As with all surgical procedures, this has its downfalls such as scarring, risk of infection, requiring a long recovery period and can increase the frequency of nose bleeds. At the London Cosmetic Clinic we offer non-surgical rhinoplasty as an alternative to invasive surgical procedures. This involves injecting a small amount of a derma filler to subtly reshape and build up the nose. It is suitable for building up small and flat noses to give them definition, straightening hook noses and crooked noses, correcting mild to moderate bumps in the bridge, helping to adjust a drooping tip and helping to add refinement after a surgical nose job.

The derma filler used is usually Hyaluronic acid, also used for rejuvenation treatments as this is naturally occurring in the body and therefore highly unlikely to cause an adverse reaction or Radiesse which is a synthetic gel that creates‘scaffolding’ when injected into the skin. As the procedure is non-surgical, you do not have to go under a general anaesthetic; a topical anaesthetic is applied to the area that is being treated and you are awake during the procedure which only takes around 15 minutes. Your practitioner will massage the filler so it reshapes the nose and you can state exactly the results that you are after.

After your treatment you should avoid touching the treated area for 6 hours and the final effect will last for around 6 to 12 months. As well as avoiding surgery, non-surgical rhinoplasty isn’t permanent so you can choose whether or not you would like the treatment redone to maintain your new look or in a slightly different way for a different effect. You are completely in control of the results which are subtle yet effective so it is much easier to adjust to your newly improved nose.
