Moles and birthmarks can be found anywhere around the face and body and are usually harmless but can make you feel self-conscious if they are larger or in a conspicuous area. At the London Cosmetic Clinic we remove moles and birthmarks with minimal discomfort and without the need for surgery.
At our Knightsbridge based clinic we use a few different methods to remove birthmarks and moles dependent on the size, depth and location of them, these include-
- Shave excision- removing the mole with a dermablade, leaving a very small wound that is cauterised and does not require stitches.
- Elliptical excision- a deeper excision that is suitable for deeper moles so that they are removed completely and will not return. You may require stitches for the resulting wound which will be dissolvable or non-dissolvable.
- Hyfrecator treatment- we use low-powered medical apparatus to directly destroy the tissue of the mole and at the same time stop any resulting bleeding. It is quick and only leaves a small superficial wound.
In a small amount of cases, moles can be linked to skin cancer. In these cases, we send a sample of your mole to a laboratory for analysis so that any abnormal cells can be detected.
As with all our treatments, you will have a free consultation where we will assess the size, location and depth of your mole and discuss suitable treatment options. It is always important to practise good aftercare so that you do not run the risk of infections or scarring, and we advise that you keep your wound clean and apply a prescribed antibiotic cream. If your mole removal has required stitches, we will schedule a follow up appointment to remove these.

Dermal fillers can be used for a wide range of treatments from enhancing features to hiding signs of aging and one of the ways in which we use dermal fillers at our Knightsbridge based clinic is to erase wrinkles on foreheads.
People often associate anti-wrinkle injections with Botulinum toxin, which paralyses the nerve and therefore decreases movement, but if the wrinkle is still visible when you aren’t frowning, dermal fillers may be a more suitable solution. We use high quality, synthetically created hyaluronic acid in our dermal fillers as this is naturally found in the body and hydrates and plumps the skin. We first apply a numbing agent to minimise discomfort before injecting small amounts of the sterile gel and massaging into place.
As well as plumping out frown lines on the forehead, dermal fillers can also be used to minimise the appearance of indented scars by filling them out to the level of the rest of the skin.
Dermal fillers for frown lines are not permanent but last several months, after which the solution passes harmlessly through your system as it is broken down. As well as looking natural, the procedure doesn’t require any surgical equipment or procedures, you do not need any recovery time and you will still be able to show expressions as usual.
As with all of our treatments, you will have a free consultation and we will explain proper aftercare with you. To find out more about our dermal filler treatments or to book your free consultation, contact us today and speak to a member of our team.
At the London Cosmetic Clinic in Knightsbridge, our highly qualified cosmetic doctor has over ten years of experience and has treated thousands of our clients with Botulinum toxin injections. As well as using this to fight wrinkles, we can also use it to fix minor complaints and imperfections, including a gummy-looking smile.
If you show more gum than you’d like to when you smile, it is because the muscles in your mouth are elevating too much so the top gum is exposed and the upper lip appears thinner, often because the muscle is hyperactive. This can make your face look slightly out of proportion, can make your upper teeth look too short and can make you feel self-conscious about your smile. As with all of our treatments, we give you a free consultation where we will explore the possible results and assess your smile. Our cosmetic doctor will apply a topical numbing agent before injecting small amounts of Botulinum toxin around your mouth. This blocks some of the nerve signals in the muscle so that they move less and therefore don’t extend as much over your teeth and you should start to see the effects within 3 to 4 days.
This treatment lasts around 4 to 6 months and then you can decide if you would like a top-up treatment. We also discuss after-care during your treatment to make sure that you get the best possible results and avoid infection.
