Dermal Fillers for the Under Eye Area

Published on: September 18, 2016

Your eyes can be the biggest indicator of your age and, as the skin surrounding the eyes is the thinnest of the entire body, it is more susceptible to premature aging. The tear through, directly underneath your eyes, can start to look hollow and sunken and can develop dark circles as the skin ages and loses its elasticity. At the London Cosmetic Clinic we can improve the appearance of the under eye area with the use of Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers.
Hyaluronic acid is a substance found naturally in the body and gives skin smoothness and plumpness by retaining water. We use a synthetically created Hyaluronic acid that is free from any animal or human products, is biocompatible and biodegradable and acts in the exact same way as the Hyaluronic acid found in the skin. This is injected into the under eye area in small amounts and then massaged into place.
As well as plumping out fine lines and wrinkles and making the tear trough of the eye look less sunken, our dermal fillers can also reduce the appearance of dark under eye circles as it creates a small cushion between the uppermost layers of the skin and the veins and thus they are less visible.
Our dermal filler treatments are non-invasive and do not require general anaesthetic or down time for recovery but we can use a numbing cream at the start of the treatment to minimise discomfort and recommend that you do not touch the treated area afterwards and avoid strenuous exercise for the following 24 hours. Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers are a great way of subtly rejuvenating the eye area without resorting to drastic surgery. If you would like to make your eyes look fresh and youthful, contact us today and book your free consultation.
