Aqualyx is an injectable solution of Sodium deoxycholate which liquifies fat so it can be flushed out by the liver and lymphatic system. It has been used since 2009 and can be used by both men and women in areas where fat is hard to shift such as saddlebags and the inner thighs. The procedure involves a series of injections to send the medication into the fat cells and immediately break them down. Following the injection, a gentle ultrasound is applied on the treated areas to help the Aqualyx solution to better penetrate and break down the fat cells, and this is repeated after 3 or 4 weeks. The area may feel slightly tender and swollen straight afterwards but this will soon fade away and the procedure does not cause any scarring.
