Even with healthy eating and plenty of exercise, many of us still have stubborn areas of fat that are impossible to reduce, especially women who can store extra fat due to hormones. It may be tempting to have Aqualyx injections straight before a holiday but you must avoid subjecting the treated area to extreme hot or cold temperatures or direct sunlight so saunas, sun beds and hot climates should be avoided until the area has recovered. You should also avoid applying cosmetics for at least 12 hours afterwards and avoid physical exercises for 4 to 5 days. Straight after your Aqualyx treatment you may experience some swelling and mild discomfort, itching and burning sensations but these will subside. It may take up to 2 weeks to see the full results of the treatment as the fat cells need to dissolve and then get released by the body as opposed to liposuction which is more invasive and can leave scarring as the fat is removed directly from the body. The swelling also needs to subside so the treated area will start to look a lot slimmer after about a week.
