At the London Cosmetic Clinic in Knightsbridge, our highly qualified cosmetic doctor has over ten years of experience and has treated thousands of our clients with Botulinum toxin injections. As well as using this to fight wrinkles, we can also use it to fix minor complaints and imperfections, including a gummy-looking smile.

If you show more gum than you’d like to when you smile, it is because the muscles in your mouth are elevating too much so the top gum is exposed and the upper lip appears thinner, often because the muscle is hyperactive. This can make your face look slightly out of proportion, can make your upper teeth look too short and can make you feel self-conscious about your smile. As with all of our treatments, we give you a free consultation where we will explore the possible results and assess your smile. Our cosmetic doctor will apply a topical numbing agent before injecting small amounts of Botulinum toxin around your mouth. This blocks some of the nerve signals in the muscle so that they move less and therefore don’t extend as much over your teeth and you should start to see the effects within 3 to 4 days.

This treatment lasts around 4 to 6 months and then you can decide if you would like a top-up treatment. We also discuss after-care during your treatment to make sure that you get the best possible results and avoid infection. If you would like to know more about Botulinum toxin as a muscle relaxant or any of our other treatments, please call us today and speak to a member of our team.

Minimising a Gummy Smile

Filler treatments can be an effective solution to lines and wrinkles, but there can be drawbacks and many of them are permanent so if you aren’t happy with the results or your face changes again, you need to get further treatments to correct them. At The London Cosmetic Clinic in Knightsbridge we offer the Sculptra Liquid Facelift to plump and smooth wrinkles all around the face without any invasive treatments as an alternative.

The Sculptra Liquid Facelift involves precisely injecting poly-l-lactic acid, a substance that has been used for over 25 years in surgical operations, as a volumising agent and to stimulate collagen production, which is needed to give the skin its elasticity. As with all our treatments, you will have a free consultation beforehand where we will assess the condition of your skin and discuss what areas require treatment and how much of the product will be used.

The treatment is non-invasive and requires no general anaesthetic or surgical equipment but we will apply a topical numbing agent to minimise discomfort. The Sculptra solution is then injected into the areas that you would like treated by our doctor and gently massaged into place. The treatment takes around 30 minutes and you should start to notice results after around six weeks. We recommend two or three sessions of the Sculptra Liquid Facelift, depending on the condition of your skin. As well as adding volume to your skin, it stimulates collagen production so your skin continues to repair itself.

Your results will last for approximately two years and the solution will harmlessly pass through your system as it is broken down. You can then decide if you would like the treatment repeatedly. We can treat many areas around the face including nose to mouth lines, the forehead and even on deep scars.

Skin Rejuvenation with the Sculptra Liquid Facelift

One of the most sought after cosmetic procedures is rhinoplasty, also known as a nose job, and people seek these out for various reasons, such as reshaping the bridge of their nose or lifting the tip. At the London Cosmetic Clinic we have had great success reshaping and defining noses without scalpels or stiches with our non-surgical rhinoplasty.

We use high-quality dermal fillers to correct various imperfections such as a flat bridge, slight bumps on the bridge of the nose or lack of definition from previous surgical rhinoplasty. Prior to your treatment, you will have a free consultation so we can assess your nose and explore possible results. You do not require general anaesthetic for dermal filler treatments but we can apply a numbing agent to minimise any discomfort. The dermal filler is then injected in small amounts and massaged into place; this process takes about 15 minutes to complete. During the treatment you are awake and can hold a mirror so that you are in complete control of your results.

As it is a non-invasive treatment, you can go home straight after your procedure and do not require any recovery time, we do however advise that you avoid strenuous activity post-treatment to minimise the risk of bruising. The results are immediate and last 6-12 months before the dermal filler is naturally broken down and passed through your system. You can then decide whether or not you would like the treatment repeated.

Reshaping your Nose with Dermal Fillers

The skin around our eyes is the thinnest and most delicate on the body, which also means that it is prone to fine lines and thinning with age, leaving the area looking dark and sunken. The area under the eyes, known as the tear trough, can be revitalised with the use of dermal fillers if makeup isn’t quite doing the job.

At the London Cosmetic Clinic we use the best quality products available on the market for our injectable dermal fillers. In the case of tear troughs, we tend to use synthetically-created hyaluronic acid to add volume and moisture to the area. Hyaluronic acid is a compound naturally found in the body and we use synthetically created hyaluronic acid in a sterile gel that is completely free of animal or human DNA but still has the same effects as the hyaluronic acid created by the body and is both biocompatible and biodegradable.

Prior to your treatment, you will have a free, non-obligation consultation with our experienced specialist doctor where they will assess the condition of your skin. During this consultation your doctor will also determine the amount of the product required for your desired results and will discuss aftercare treatment with you. The product is injected using cannulas, blunted needles that have a lower risk of bruising or injecting into blood vessels, and is then massaged into place to give a smooth, even result. As the hyaluronic acid adds volume, this makes the skin plumper and lifts it so that it isn’t as close to the blood vessels and therefore the under-eye area does not look as dark and the eyes lose any sunken appearance they have.

As the treatment is non-surgical, you will not have to undergo any general anaesthetic or take time out for recovery time, there is also no risk of scarring or stitches. You will notice a difference straight away and the effects last for around 12 months. After then you can decide whether or not you would like the treatment repeated.

Dermal Fillers for the Under-eye Area

The shape and contours of our face make a huge difference to its appearance but age, genetics and weight fluctuations can leave the cheeks looking flat, saggy and deflated. At the London Cosmetic Clinic we can revitalise your cheeks and boost its profile with the use of Juvederm injectable fillers, a safe and non-permanent alternative to traditional surgical cheek fillers.

Juvederm is one of the best injectable filler products available on the market with FDA approval and consists of high quality, synthetically created hyaluronic acid, a substance found naturally in the skin that gives volume and elasticity. It gives a smooth, natural feel when injected into the skin as well as boosting volume and giving a youthful appearance. Whilst traditional surgical methods involve removing fat from elsewhere on the body to implant into the cheeks, we simply inject small amounts of Juvederm Voluma into several points on the face so the results are easy to control, last up to 2 years and only minimal time is required for recovery. As the hyaluronic acid in our Juvederm injectable fillers is biodegradable, the results are naturally processed by the body. You can then decide if you would like a top-up treatment.

Prior to your treatment, you will have a free consultation with our cosmetic doctors where we will explore what results are possible. The doctors will assess the condition of your skin and determine how much of the product you will need to achieve your desired results. As part of your aftercare procedure, we advise that you avoid applying cosmetics and products to your skin for at least six hours and then use a high SPF and minimise UV exposure to protect the skin. There may be some swelling or bruising but this will subside within 2 to 3 days and you can take painkillers if need be. The final result will be youthful, smooth and bouncy cheeks and a facial structure that appears more lifted and defined.

Lip Enhancement Treatments

A lot of us dream of full, well-defined lips but have either lost shape and definition due to age or never had plump lips due to genetics. At the London Cosmetic Clinic we have non-invasive treatment options to give you the lips you’ve always wanted.

We use top quality Juvederm and Restylane fillers to add volume to lips and defining the borders of them and the Cupid’s bow so that their shape is enhanced. This technique can also be used to balance out uneven lips and smooth and fill lines around the lips such as marionette folds and ‘smoker’s lines’. The dermal fillers we use are biocompatible and based on Hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally found in the body so they are highly unlikely to cause a reaction and give long-lasting but not permanent results.

As your lips are a very sensitive area, we numb them before the treatment starts. We then use small, precise injections of the filler to give results that are both natural-looking and noticeably better. Your lips may appear bruised or swollen straight after treatment but this will subside. Whilst the treatment does not cause cold sores, it can trigger them if you are already prone to breakouts so make sure you take any necessary medication for them.

Botulinum Toxin for Excess Sweating

This summer is set to be one of the hottest on record but, whilst most of us enjoy getting extra sunshine and a bit of a tan, for those who experience excess sweating hot weather can be inconvenient and embarrassing. At The London Cosmetic Clinic our Botulinum Toxin practitioner can help stop sweating from the forehead, palms, feet and armpits, giving people the freedom to shake hands, exercise and wear whatever they want without worrying about smells and dampness.

Botulinum toxin injections work by blocking chemical signals to the nerves in the muscles. In the case of sweating, this stops sending the message telling the body to produce sweat. The procedure only takes 20 to 25 minutes and we advise you not to touch or rub the skin straight afterwards and to avoid exercise for 24 hours. You will start to notice the effects of the treatment after 1-2 weeks and you should stay sweat-free for about 6 months, after which time you will gradually start sweating again unless you have a top-up treatment.

Controlling your sweating means that you don’t need to carry around spare tops or spend a fortune on antiperspirants only to have to keep reapplying them and can make you feel more confident. Eyebrow Lifting

Even with cleverly applied makeup, our eyes can really give away our age, especially if the eyebrows have begun to droop. At the London Cosmetic Clinic, we have two treatment options to lift your eyebrows and make your eyes look youthful without a false, frozen look.

The first treatment option is Botulinum toxin injection to relax the muscles that pull your browns down and enhance the function of the muscle that pull your browns up. This is a minimal invasive treatment involving a series of small needle injections. Your skin may appear swollen or slightly red after the treatment for 10 mins but this will subside and we simply advise that you try not to rub at the area whilst it is healing. The final result is wide awake eyes with lifted brows that still have character and expression. The treatment lasts between four to six months and you can choose to have a top-up treatment after four months if you so wish. We only use top quality products and our practitioners have years of experience.

The second treatment option is the PDO thread lift which involves the injection of absorbable thread under your skin to lift the eyebrow. An injection of anaesthetic prior the treatment will help reduce discomfort. The result is immediate with some down time of 2-3 days swelling and bruising. The result generally lasts up to 2 years.

Scars can carry memories on our skin, for example, stretch marks from pregnancy, marks from childhood high jinks, but they can also make us feel self-conscious and unwilling to wear certain clothes. At the London Cosmetic Clinic we have a range of scar removal and minimising treatments and we can help you choose the best option based on the type, location and condition of your scar.

Scars fall into different categories depending on how they were caused and their appearance, the main categories are as follows

  • Keloid scars (caused by over-aggressive healing, appears shiny and raised)
  • Acne scars (small pits caused by severe acne)
  • Stretch marks (caused by sudden growth or weight loss, often appear during pregnancy and puberty)
  • Contracture scars (often from a burn, these cause a tightening in the skin that also affects the underlying muscle)
  • Hypertrophic scars (similar to keloid scars but don’t extend over the point of injury)

In some cases scars can be diminished by encouraging the skin to produce more collagen and heal itself, for example IPL treatment which can help fade red or pink scars and stimulates collagen and elastin production. Likewise our Dermaroller treatment encourages the skin to heal itself and is very effective on stretch marks.

If your scar is atrophic, i.e. dipped into the skin, we can use dermal fillers to raise it to the level of the surrounding skin whilst raised scars like keloid and hypertrophic scars can be treated with a series of corticosteroid injections.

We can perform minor surgery to improve the appearance of a scar or to release it if it is affecting the movement of a joint. This involves removing the scar tissue then closing the wound and can cause a temporary scar which will fade as the skin recovers.

In all cases we will explain the process fully and demonstrate correct aftercare to prevent infection. If you have a scar that you would like removed, please contact us today to book a free consultation.

Removing and Minimising Scars

You can change the shape of your eyes with makeup, use makeup to make your lips appear fuller and contour your cheekbones with bronzer but it is really hard to make your nose appear different when you do not like the shape of it. At the London Cosmetic Clinic we make use of injectable fillers to reshape and build up the nose to improve its appearance whilst looking natural and without the use of invasive surgery.

We use top quality dermal fillers that are biocompatible and biodegradable and inject them very precisely in small amounts to make adjustments to the tip of the nose as well as the bridge. As well as building up flat noses, this method can be used to lift drooping tips, correct bumps in the bridge and give definition. It can also be used to restore shape and definition after unsuccessful rhinoplasty.

The obvious advantage of our non-surgical rhinoplasty is that it does not involve an invasive procedure or general anaesthetic. You are in complete control of the results and there is no ‘down time’ required afterwards. It also does not involve taking away any of your nose’s natural tissue or bone and, whilst the results last a long time, is not permanent so you can choose whether or not you want the procedure repeated.
