Post treatment care and advice
Please do not touch the treated area for 4 hours after the treatment
Please avoid sleeping on the treated area for 3 nights
When a bruise does appear, please apply arnica gel a few times a day (this can be purchased from any pharmacy)
Please do not plan any facial treatment for 4 weeks. You can then plan other facial treatments except for laser treatment.
Avoid strenuous exercise and warming up of your face for 2 weeks
You will be able to see some good effect as soon as you leave the clinic but it is important to keep in mind that it will take 2 weeks for collagen to start working. You will start to see even better effect after 4 weeks post treatment.

What is a PDO Thread ?
PDO (Polydioxanone) thread is a strong filament fibre,consisting of a few twisted solid fiber thread, which dissolves in the body tissue after a certain time (usually 6-8months)
PDO material is used for more than 30 years in plastic surgery, gastroenterology, urology, gynaecology, ophthalmology for cutaneous and subcutaneous stitches. These threads have high tensile strength, excellent pliability and smooth tissue passage. This material meets all the requirements established by the United States Pharmacopeia (USP) for surgical sutures.
PDO ultimately breaks down into water and carbon dioxide which are naturally absorbed into skin.
PDO cause a very mild reaction during absorption, minimal acute inflammatory reaction with subsequent formation of new collagen production around the thread (neo collagenesis).
Who is suitable for PDO Thread Lift?
The procedure is suitable for most people from 25 onwards, when the effects of ageing become apparent. Ageing causes the skin tissue to thin because the collagen and elastin fibres break down, which results in sagging skin, deep creases, folds and wrinkles. PDO threads reverse the effects of ageing and improve the quality of skin.
If the patient does not want to have a face lift surgery, thread lift can be a very effective alternative. Threads are implanted into the sub-dermal skin and stimulate the production of collagen and the skin becomes firmer, elastic and moisturised. The thread dissolves itself in few months but the effect lasts longer than the regular dermal filler.

What does PDO Thread Lift procedure involve?
The 30-minute procedure is simple, safe and causes minimal discomfort and minimal downtime for patients in the doctor’s clinic. Numbing cream will be applied to the treatment area for additional comfort. After a small local anaesthetic, the doctor inserts the PDO threads under the skin to a depth of about three to five millimetres using needles of differing length and thickness, adapted to each treatment area, creating an immediate lifting effect. No cut is required. Once the threads are in place, the doctor performs slight compression of the tissue to reshape it by hand and to obtain the desired lifting effect. The non-inserted ends of the threads are cut off. The number of threads used will vary according to the needs of each patients.
The PDO Threads can be used as a single treatment or combined with another procedure ( vampire facelift, Dermal Filler, Botulinum toxin etc)
What happens immediately after PDO Thread Lift treatment?
As with any cosmetic treatment, some slight swelling, redness or bruising may sometimes be observed, but these effects disappear within several days.
There is sometimes a slight wrinkling of the skin (required for optimisation of the treatment) which disappears very quickly. If you experience any side effects, talk to your doctor.
