What does the procedure involve?
A simple local anaesthetic may be suggested before each injection of DESIRIAL® PLUS, which ensures a painless efficient treatment.
The practitioner will inject DESIRIAL® PLUS just under the labia majora dermis. A small cannula will be used to spread the product along the labia without causing any damage.
The procedure lasts about 20 minutes.
Pre and post injections advice
- Recommend to avoid taking aspirin, Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs), platelet aggregation inhibiting drugs, anti-coagulants or vitamin C the week before injection.
- Slight bleeding may be observed post-injection.
- Avoid going to damp places such as swimming pools, gyms, Turkish baths, jacuzzis, etc. for 10 days.
- Avoid any sexual intercourse for 5 days.
- Avoid any activities that put pressure on the treated area for several days (cycling, horse riding…).
Are there any adverse effects?
After an injection session, as with any injection of hyaluronic acid, some reactions may occur, such as swelling, bruising, itching, sensitivity at the injection site, but these are resorbed normally within a few days.
Are there any contraindications?
- Pregnant or breastfeeding woman.
- Areas showing signs of clinical inflammation and/or viral infection (e.g.: Papilloma, Herpes), bacterial, fungal (e.g.: thrush), and/or in patients being treated for these pathologies.
- Patient with known hypersensitivity to one of the components (hyaluronic acid).
- Remember to tell your doctor about your pathological history, such as autoimmune diseases or immunotherapeutic treatments.
How long the result last?
The result last up to one year. However, top up treatment around 8 months is recommended to maintain the result.
