VBeam Laser London | Pulsed Dye Laser (PDL) Treatment

The London Cosmetic Clinic on Harley Street offers VBeam Perfecta, the world’s leading and most clinically studied pulsed dye laser (PDL), for the treatment of a wide range of vascular and scar-related skin conditions.

Our Harley Street clinic is fully regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), with treatments delivered by GMC-registered doctors and specialist-trained laser practitioners using advanced, evidence-based technology.

VBeam works by delivering a precise 595nm wavelength of yellow light that is selectively absorbed by haemoglobin in blood vessels, allowing it to treat visible redness, broken capillaries and vascular birthmarks directly, while leaving surrounding skin undamaged.

A built-in Dynamic Cooling Device protects the skin’s surface during treatment, making VBeam one of the most comfortable and safest vascular lasers available.

Conditions we treat with VBeam laser

  • VBeam for Rosacea & Facial Redness – calming persistent redness, flushing and visible vessels associated with rosacea
  • VBeam for Spider Veins & Thread Veins – removing visible facial blood vessels caused by sun damage, ageing or genetics
  • VBeam for Port Wine Stains – the gold-standard treatment for vascular birthmarks in children and adults
  • VBeam for Red & Raised Scars – fading redness and softening raised tissue in surgical, acne and hypertrophic scars
  • VBeam for Stretch Marks – reducing the red or purple colouring of newer stretch marks

How does VBeam laser work?

VBeam’s pulsed dye laser technology targets haemoglobin, the pigment found in blood, with a wavelength specifically chosen to be absorbed by blood vessels while passing harmlessly through the surrounding skin. As the targeted vessel heats and its wall collapses, it is gradually broken down and reabsorbed by the body’s natural processes, fading the visible redness, vein or vascular mark. Because VBeam targets blood vessels directly rather than masking colour, results tend to be longer-lasting than topical treatments alone.

Why choose VBeam over other laser and light treatments?

  • Precision – a single targeted wavelength (595nm) rather than the broad spectrum of light used by IPL, allowing more predictable, effective treatment of vascular concerns
  • Comfort – integrated cooling technology significantly reduces discomfort compared with older laser systems
  • Versatility – effective across a wide range of vascular and scar-related conditions, from fine facial thread veins to vascular birthmarks
  • Safety – FDA-cleared, with one of the largest bodies of peer-reviewed clinical research of any vascular laser
  • Minimal downtime – most patients return to normal activities the same day, with only temporary bruising as the main side effect

Frequently Asked Questions about VBeam for Acne & Acne Red Marks

What is VBeam laser used for?

VBeam is used to treat a wide range of vascular and scar-related skin conditions, including
rosacea, facial redness, thread veins, port wine stains, red or raised scars, and early-stage
red or purple stretch marks.

Most patients describe a mild snapping sensation, similar to a rubber band flick. The device’s built-in cooling significantly reduces discomfort, and topical numbing cream can be used for more sensitive areas.

This depends entirely on the condition being treated, its severity and your individual response. Most conditions require between 2 and 6 sessions, spaced 4-6 weeks apart, though port wine stains and longstanding vascular concerns may need more. A personalised treatment plan is provided after consultation.

Most patients experience some temporary bruising (purpura) or mild swelling lasting between a few days and around two weeks, depending on the area and condition treated. Most people return to normal daily activities immediately.

VBeam can be used on a wide range of skin types and tones, with settings adjusted individually. This is assessed thoroughly during your consultation.

We offer complimentary consultations to assess your skin and condition. Prices are always confirmed prior to treatment and depend on the area being treated, the condition, and the number of sessions recommended.
