Laser SWT Hair Removal

Published on: August 28, 2018

For quite a few years now, traditional lasers and IPLs have taken the spotlight when it comes to hair removal, but that’s all about to change. SWT is the new technique on the block and our clients and aesthetic therapist at The London Cosmetic Clinic love it! Continue reading to find out what SWT hair removal is and why it could be just the treatment you’ve been looking for.

What is SWT Hair Removal?

SWT stands for ‘Selective Waveband Technology’ and at The London Cosmetic Clinic we use a specific medical SWT machine called the Ellipse Nordlys. The Ellipse treatment removes hair with short, specific flashes of light, which is completely safe and can actually be used on a number of skin conditions alongside unwanted hair, such as sun-damage, acne, vascular disorders etc.

It works in the same way as laser and IPL hair removal, although the selective wavelengths used by SWT make it far easier to control and target the areas you want treated. It also ensures better results for all hair types, most colours and is a more focused treatment overall.

Is it Safe?

Our clinic would never use anything unsafe on our clients, so we’ve been sure to research all the professional, clinical trials that SWT has been through and the studies have conclusively shown that the method is safe and effective. We’ll take further precautions to make sure you get the best results with no side-effects such as following the recommended settings set out by the clinicians and controlling the amount of energy we focus on your skin. There’s a reason why SWT has been so successful and safety is a huge factor!

The Procedure

If you want to remove hair with SWT, so you don’t have to worry about shaving, waxing and in-grown hairs, you’ll simply have to book in with us for a treatment every 4 to 6 weeks. Usually, you’ll need about 6 sessions before the treatment is complete in which time the follicles of your unwanted hair will be denatured, meaning it will be permanently reduced. Hair will become reduced, finer, and less pigmented so you don’t have to worry about getting rid of it at home anymore!

Why Choose The London Cosmetic Clinic?

Choosing SWT hair removal in London at our clinic is a popular choice for a number of reasons. First of all, we have an independent specialist trained in IPL treatments, who has over 10 years of experience working at the Ellipse clinic in Knightsbridge. The care from our staff is second to none, and we always ensure a high patient satisfaction, both in the service you receive and the results of your treatments. We’re CARE QUALITY COMMISSION (CQC) registered, and approved and regulated by SAFE FACE, so you know you can trust us to give you a treatment that’s safe.
