Dermal fillers can be used for a wide range of treatments from enhancing features to hiding signs of aging and one of the ways in which we use dermal fillers at our Knightsbridge based clinic is to erase wrinkles on foreheads.

People often associate anti-wrinkle injections with Botulinum toxin, which paralyses the nerve and therefore decreases movement, but if the wrinkle is still visible when you aren’t frowning, dermal fillers may be a more suitable solution. We use high quality, synthetically created hyaluronic acid in our dermal fillers as this is naturally found in the body and hydrates and plumps the skin. We first apply a numbing agent to minimise discomfort before injecting small amounts of the sterile gel and massaging into place.

As well as plumping out frown lines on the forehead, dermal fillers can also be used to minimise the appearance of indented scars by filling them out to the level of the rest of the skin.

Dermal fillers for frown lines are not permanent but last several months, after which the solution passes harmlessly through your system as it is broken down. As well as looking natural, the procedure doesn’t require any surgical equipment or procedures, you do not need any recovery time and you will still be able to show expressions as usual.

As with all of our treatments, you will have a free consultation and we will explain proper aftercare with you. To find out more about our dermal filler treatments or to book your free consultation, contact us today and speak to a member of our team.

Filler treatments can be an effective solution to lines and wrinkles, but there can be drawbacks and many of them are permanent so if you aren’t happy with the results or your face changes again, you need to get further treatments to correct them. At The London Cosmetic Clinic in Knightsbridge we offer the Sculptra Liquid Facelift to plump and smooth wrinkles all around the face without any invasive treatments as an alternative.

The Sculptra Liquid Facelift involves precisely injecting poly-l-lactic acid, a substance that has been used for over 25 years in surgical operations, as a volumising agent and to stimulate collagen production, which is needed to give the skin its elasticity. As with all our treatments, you will have a free consultation beforehand where we will assess the condition of your skin and discuss what areas require treatment and how much of the product will be used.

The treatment is non-invasive and requires no general anaesthetic or surgical equipment but we will apply a topical numbing agent to minimise discomfort. The Sculptra solution is then injected into the areas that you would like treated by our doctor and gently massaged into place. The treatment takes around 30 minutes and you should start to notice results after around six weeks. We recommend two or three sessions of the Sculptra Liquid Facelift, depending on the condition of your skin. As well as adding volume to your skin, it stimulates collagen production so your skin continues to repair itself.

Your results will last for approximately two years and the solution will harmlessly pass through your system as it is broken down. You can then decide if you would like the treatment repeatedly. We can treat many areas around the face including nose to mouth lines, the forehead and even on deep scars.

Skin Rejuvenation with the Sculptra Liquid Facelift

One of the most sought after cosmetic procedures is rhinoplasty, also known as a nose job, and people seek these out for various reasons, such as reshaping the bridge of their nose or lifting the tip. At the London Cosmetic Clinic we have had great success reshaping and defining noses without scalpels or stiches with our non-surgical rhinoplasty.

We use high-quality dermal fillers to correct various imperfections such as a flat bridge, slight bumps on the bridge of the nose or lack of definition from previous surgical rhinoplasty. Prior to your treatment, you will have a free consultation so we can assess your nose and explore possible results. You do not require general anaesthetic for dermal filler treatments but we can apply a numbing agent to minimise any discomfort. The dermal filler is then injected in small amounts and massaged into place; this process takes about 15 minutes to complete. During the treatment you are awake and can hold a mirror so that you are in complete control of your results.

As it is a non-invasive treatment, you can go home straight after your procedure and do not require any recovery time, we do however advise that you avoid strenuous activity post-treatment to minimise the risk of bruising. The results are immediate and last 6-12 months before the dermal filler is naturally broken down and passed through your system. You can then decide whether or not you would like the treatment repeated.

The skin around our eyes is the thinnest and most delicate on the body, which also means that it is prone to fine lines and thinning with age, leaving the area looking dark and sunken. The area under the eyes, known as the tear trough, can be revitalised with the use of dermal fillers if makeup isn’t quite doing the job.

At the London Cosmetic Clinic we use the best quality products available on the market for our injectable dermal fillers. In the case of tear troughs, we tend to use synthetically-created hyaluronic acid to add volume and moisture to the area. Hyaluronic acid is a compound naturally found in the body and we use synthetically created hyaluronic acid in a sterile gel that is completely free of animal or human DNA but still has the same effects as the hyaluronic acid created by the body and is both biocompatible and biodegradable.

Prior to your treatment, you will have a free, non-obligation consultation with our experienced specialist doctor where they will assess the condition of your skin. During this consultation your doctor will also determine the amount of the product required for your desired results and will discuss aftercare treatment with you. The product is injected using cannulas, blunted needles that have a lower risk of bruising or injecting into blood vessels, and is then massaged into place to give a smooth, even result. As the hyaluronic acid adds volume, this makes the skin plumper and lifts it so that it isn’t as close to the blood vessels and therefore the under-eye area does not look as dark and the eyes lose any sunken appearance they have.

As the treatment is non-surgical, you will not have to undergo any general anaesthetic or take time out for recovery time, there is also no risk of scarring or stitches. You will notice a difference straight away and the effects last for around 12 months. After then you can decide whether or not you would like the treatment repeated.

Dermal Fillers for the Under-eye Area

Your jawline plays a major part in defining your face shape, especially with the current ‘v-shape’ trend of focusing contouring on your jaw and chin but as we grow older and start to lose skin and muscle tone this definition and clear shape start to get lost. At the London Cosmetic Clinic we use Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers to correct this issue before it turns into a jowl and the sagging becomes too severe to treat without invasive surgery.
Hyaluronic acid is a compound naturally found in the skin which gives the skin volume and elasticity. We use high quality, synthetically created Hyaluronic acid which is free of animal products and biocompatible, typically market leaders Juvederm and Restylane which are both in sterile gels. These fillers are injected in small, precise amounts where it is needed across the jawline and then massaged into place. You can hold a mirror throughout the treatment so you have complete control of the result, which will last between 9 to 12 months.
Although the treatment does not require any recovery time and is non-invasive, we will still apply a numbing cream to minimize any discomfort. It is best to avoid touching your face and applying makeup as well as not using Vitamin E, St.John’s Wort, ibuprofen or aspirin. We also advise that you refrain from exercise apart from walking. There should be minimal bruising and swelling but your jaw will look younger, firmer and more defined. If you are concerned that your jawline is starting to look saggy, call us today and book your free consultation.

Even when we take care of our faces and bodies our hands can still show the signs of premature aging and appear much younger than you are. At the London Cosmetic Clinic we can make your
hands look youthful again with the use of high quality dermal fillers.

There are two main fillers that we use on the hands and they both have different effects. The first is Juvederm which is based on syntheticallycreated, biocompatible Hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic
acid is a compound that is naturally found in the skin and attracts water so, when used on the skin, it makes it more moisturised and regain its bounce. This can help improve the appearance of
crepey looking skin on the backs of the hands. The other dermal filler used is Radiesse, which contains tiny beads of calcium hydroxylapatite in a gel. This is injected as a ball and then massaged into

the grooves of your hands to provide a ‘scaffolding’ in boney, sinewy hands that have lost their fat padding. This also encourages the skin to produce more collagen so the condition of the skin is                                                 improved. The effects last up to 2 years.

Prior to your treatment we will numb the area to minimise any discomfort and afterwards you will not have to take any down time to recover but we do recommend that you keep the area clean
with plain water and avoid products like perfumed soap and hand cream to avoid irritation. You should also avoid vitamin E, arnica, St.John’s wort and aspirin and ibuprofen to avoid swelling. If
you would like younger looking hands and are considering Juvederm or Radiesse treatments, contact us today to book your free consultation.

Lip Enhancement Treatments

A lot of us dream of full, well-defined lips but have either lost shape and definition due to age or never had plump lips due to genetics. At the London Cosmetic Clinic we have non-invasive treatment options to give you the lips you’ve always wanted.

We use top quality Juvederm and Restylane fillers to add volume to lips and defining the borders of them and the Cupid’s bow so that their shape is enhanced. This technique can also be used to balance out uneven lips and smooth and fill lines around the lips such as marionette folds and ‘smoker’s lines’. The dermal fillers we use are biocompatible and based on Hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally found in the body so they are highly unlikely to cause a reaction and give long-lasting but not permanent results.

As your lips are a very sensitive area, we numb them before the treatment starts. We then use small, precise injections of the filler to give results that are both natural-looking and noticeably better. Your lips may appear bruised or swollen straight after treatment but this will subside. Whilst the treatment does not cause cold sores, it can trigger them if you are already prone to breakouts so make sure you take any necessary medication for them.

Cosmetic Injectables are a great way of getting predictable, natural-looking results without any invasive procedures and with minimal recovery time. At the London Cosmetic Clinic we offer the Sculptra liquid facelift which helps restore the contours of the face, boost its volume and plump out lines and wrinkles.

The volumising liquid in Sculptra is poly-l-lactic acid, a biocompatible and biodegradable liquid that has been used successfully in surgical operations for over 25 years. Whilst most fillers work by plumping the skin themselves, i.e. by being the filling themselves, Sculptra is different in that it encourages the skin to produce its own collagen. This means that the result is more true to the patient’s appearance and looks completely natural and proportioned. It can be used in wrinkles and lines around the face such as nasolabial folds and sunken cheeks as well as being used on deep scars.

Prior to your treatment we apply a numbing agent and the liquid is massaged after being injected. You may need two or three sessions, depending on the severity of your lines and it takes around six weeks for the effects to become noticeable. After your treatment you do not have to take any time off from your usual schedule and, as it is non-invasive, there are no stitches and no risk of infection.

Reversing Aging with Sculptra, The Liquid Facelift

One of the first things that people notice about another person’s face is their smile so it is really important that you feel happy and confident with your smile however there are some things that can prevent people from being happy with their smile. At the London Cosmetic Clinic we can alter and improve the appearance of your smile with the use of non-invasive treatments such as Botulinum toxin injections.

Some people find that their upper lip lifts up too high when they smile, showing too much of the gum line and making them feel self-conscious about their smile. This is caused by the muscles in the upper lip working too hard and over-extending so we use small, carefully positioned injections of Botulinum toxin to block the nerve impulses and therefore stop the muscles from lifting the lip too much whilst still allowing you to smile.

Sometimes people avoid smiling in photos because they don’t like the shape of their face when they smile, often due to overdeveloped jaw muscles which can make women’s face look less feminine and out of proportion. In these cases we can also use a course of Botulinum toxin injections so the muscles are used less and over time start to naturally reduce in size. We also offer a range of dermal fillers that can plump out wrinkles so you can smile with confidence instead of worrying about looking older.

Before any treatments we take you through a very thorough consultation to determine the best course of action for you. In order to keep your final results as natural looking as possible, we will ask you to go through a series of expressions at your consultation and work with your features and face shape. As these treatments are not permanent, you can choose to have the treatment redone if you wish or have a top-up treatment to alter the final result if need be.

To find out more about any of our treatments please feel free to browse our website or contact us on 0203 5813391 to speak with a member of our friendly and knowledgeable team.

Transforming Your Smile

As time goes by our skin starts to display signs of aging, some of which are easier to hide than others. One such sign of aging is fine lines around the nose and the mouth which cannot be disguised with makeup and can appear worse due to several factors such as lifestyle, UV exposure and excess use of the facial muscles. At the London Cosmetic Clinic we specialise in anti-aging solutions using the very best filler products on the market.

The dermal fillers we primarily use for lines around the nose and mouth are Restylane and Juvederm. These are both sterile gels that aren’t animal or human derived and consist of hyaluronic acid. As hyaluronic acid is naturally found in the body, it is biocompatible and highly unlikely to cause an adverse reaction. It is also biodegradable, unlike surgically implanted fillers. As well as just plumping out the skin, hyaluronic acid gives the skin elasticity and doesn’t give the rigid, ‘sticking out’ effect of implanted fillers.

Before your procedure we will assess your face, the depth and position of the lines and discuss your desired results. We typically treat marionette lines, smokers’ lines, drooping mouth corners and nose-to-mouth lines but as everyone’s face is different, we tailor the treatment precisely to you, both in where the fillers are injected and the amount used. On the day of your treatment a numbing agent will be applied 15-30 minutes beforehand and you can hold a hand mirror whilst the filler is injected so you have complete control of your results.

There are so many benefits of using hyaluronic-based fillers for diminishing the appearance of lines and wrinkles; it is naturally found in the body so there is very little chance of a reaction, it is flexible, it is biodegradable so over time will disappear and it’s a non-invasive treatment so you have no scars, no anaesthetic and no prolonged recovery time. Our dermal fillers give a renewed youth around the nose and mouth areas and the results can last up to 18 months. After then, it’s up to you whether you have the treatment repeated or not.
