Is Morpheus 8 permanent?

Published on: January 22, 2021

As the skin starts to succumb to the effects of ageing, it can become less taut, plump and toned. Lines, wrinkles and skin sagging can all take its toll, and the appearance of jowls can make us look older than our years, tired and worn out.

At The London Cosmetic Clinic on Harley Street, we can not only address the first and advanced signs of ageing but can help to prevent skin degradation and facial decline- permanently, with a range of clinically-proven, state-of-the-art cosmetic treatments.

Radiofrequency (RF) skin tightening is world-famous for producing outstanding results when it comes to anti-ageing. This highly-sought-after technology, when coupled with microneedling technology, can offer the crème de la crème for skin rejuvenation and wrinkle reduction. This revolutionary technology is called Morpheus 8 and is now available here at The London Cosmetic Clinic.

Morpheus 8 is an in-clinic treatment that combines RF technology with fractional micro pins, which enter the skin and create minuscule injuries. This, stimulates a natural healing response, encouraging the skin to produce collagen; a vital saviour when it comes to skin elasticity, tone, hydration and vibrance. Fine lines and wrinkles fade, the skin becomes more resilient, thicker and plumper and the skin appears lifted and tighter. Morpheus 8 is clinically proven to deliver fractional RF heat energy, deep into the dermis, which further enhances skin tightening and helps reduce the appearance of scars too!

Morpheus 8 is a super-charged treatment when used on its own or in conjunction with other non-surgical applications such as Botox®, dermal fillers, laser, PDO threads or dermal peels. In a no-obligation, pre-treatment consultation here at The London Cosmetic Clinic, one of our specialist team of medically-qualified experts will assess your skin, check your medical history and create a bespoke treatment plan to suit your individual skin concerns. If Morpheus 8 is right for you, you can then book your first appointment for treatment.

What happens during a Morpheus 8 treatment at The London Cosmetic Clinic?

After you have completed some standard consent forms and have been made comfortable in one of our treatment rooms, a topical anaesthetic will be applied to your skin, 45 minutes prior to your Morpheus 8 procedure. Once your skin is numb, the hand-held device will then be placed over your skin on the areas of concern. You might feel some tightening, warming and tingling of the skin, but this is entirely normal and should not be painful. The treatment takes around 30 minutes, after which, you can return to your daily activities without having to take any time off work.

You may, however, experience some redness of your skin for around five days, post-treatment. It’s advisable to wear a high-factor SPF, avoid saunas, steam rooms and hot baths and stay out of the sun as much as possible, in the days after your procedure. We can also advise on specialist skincare to use at home, to ensure the very best results are achieved and maintained, for that ultimate skin glow!

So, is Morpheus 8 permanent?

This is the million-dollar question for all cosmetic procedures and the one that’s on everyone’s lips when they come and see us. Our patients want to know how long their results will last, is the treatment worth the money? And when will they need to return for repeat / top-up treatments? The good news is that Morpheus 8 can offer long lasting results, that can withstand the test of time. This can be achieved with a proper treatment plan and a course of sessions, your own care of the skin using good quality cosmeceuticals as well as annual top-up Morpheus 8 treatments, as advised by your medical skin professional. Morpheus 8 helps the body to produce more collagen, naturally and as long as you maintain a healthy lifestyle and a good skincare regime, along with your maintenance treatments, you should see a major reduction in skin laxity.

Like all cosmetic treatments, Morpheus 8 will not stop the natural ageing process. It will simply help the skin maintain a healthy and youthful appearance, appropriate to your age. Your practitioner will set out realistic goals and expectations from the very first time you visit The London Cosmetic Clinic, so you know what kind of results to expect and how they may alter as the years go on.

Morpheus 8 is a game-changer when it comes to combined technologies for optimum anti-ageing results, and as long as you invest in yourself at home and stick to a good maintenance plan, you should see healthier, glowing and more toned, plump skin for as long as you want it!
