Acne is a common, multi factorial skin condition which commonly start during puberty. In many cases, it tends to ease when we reach adulthood, but in some people, acne can persist for decades. Acne is often confined to the face, but it may involve neck, chest and back. There are multiple forms or acne from mild which manifest in forms of blackheads or whiteheads. When they get inflamed, they become red spots and turn into pus-filled pimples. Occasionally, larger deeper bumps or cysts (which resemble boils) may develop. If leave them untreated, this inflammatory acne can leave permanently disfigured scars on your skin.

Oral Retinoids

Cortisone injections

This procedure involves using a diluted form of a medication called triamcinolone acetonide (Kenalog) and injecting this substance directly into the pimples. It is used for short-term relief of inflammation and greatly reduces the size of the acne lesions. In addition to alleviate the symptoms, it helps preventing the possibility of permanent scarring.
