Profhilo® is an injectable hyaluronic acid (HA) skin revitalising treatment, which acts to rejuvenate the skin’s architecture in a course of 2 treatments with injections at 5 specific points of the face. Otherwise referred to as ‘liquid skincare’, Profhilo® contains the highest grade HA available and stimulates 4 different types of collagen and elastin, vital skin saving substances. Profhilo® is not like traditional dermal filler as it is more fluid and does not physically plump or augment the skin. It does not contain BDDE or any cross-linking agents, like many thicker and more viscous dermal fillers. How do I know if I am suitable for a Profhilo® treatment at The London Cosmetic Clinic?
Most people who are experiencing the early to more advanced signs of skin ageing can benefit from a course of Profhilo®. However, before any non-surgical injectable treatment can be carried out here at The London Cosmetic Clinic, we will conduct an initial consultation to discuss your expectations for results, as well as check your medical history to ensure you are fit, well and suitable for the treatment. As with any injectable cosmetic treatment there are some contraindications. Therefore, it’s vital to have this initial meeting with your practitioner, so that you can rule out any risks or potential negative side-effects. Once your practitioner confirms that you will benefit from a Profhilo® treatment, you can go ahead and book your session at the clinic.
What happens during a Profhilo® treatment at The London Cosmetic Clinic, Harley Street?
On the day of your treatment you will be asked to complete some standard consent forms. After which you will be invited to relax in one of the treatment rooms. Your skin will be thoroughly cleansed and sterilised and a topical anaesthetic will be applied to maximise your comfort throughout the procedure. Localised injections of the Profhilo® skin booster will then be administered, in to 5 areas of your face, each side. The product will spread over time, but immediately after the treatment, you might experience some small lumps where the injections have taken place. This is quite normal and should subside within 24 hours. You can return to your daily activities following your Profhilo® treatment as there is no medical downtime, following the procedure.
Does Profhilo® hurt?
As with any injectable cosmetic treatment, there may be some level of discomfort. However, as a topical anaesthetic will be applied to your skin before your Profhilo® injections, this should be minimal.
What results can I expect to see from Profhilo®?
A course of Profhilo®, usually consists of 2 sessions, 1 month apart. After which, expect to see renewed hydration with a luminous glow. Some skin lifting may also be achieved. Optimum results can be seen around a month after your second treatment, but gradual improvements can be noticed much sooner. You’ll notice fine lines can be significantly reduced and the skin will appear smoother and more evenly toned. If you experience more advanced skin ageing, your practitioner may suggest a third treatment, 6 months following your initial course, to offer the crème de la crème of skin improvement.
How long do results last?
Results can last up to 6 months following your initial treatment with Profhilo®. However, everyone is different. A healthy lifestyle can have a significant effect on the longevity of your results. If you eat well, drink plenty of water avoid smoking and excessive sun exposure, your results from Profhilo® should last longer than someone who doesn’t.
