Dermal fillers can be used for a wide range of treatments from enhancing features to hiding signs of aging and one of the ways in which we use dermal fillers at our Knightsbridge based clinic is to erase wrinkles on foreheads.
People often associate anti-wrinkle injections with Botulinum toxin, which paralyses the nerve and therefore decreases movement, but if the wrinkle is still visible when you aren’t frowning, dermal fillers may be a more suitable solution. We use high quality, synthetically created hyaluronic acid in our dermal fillers as this is naturally found in the body and hydrates and plumps the skin. We first apply a numbing agent to minimise discomfort before injecting small amounts of the sterile gel and massaging into place.
As well as plumping out frown lines on the forehead, dermal fillers can also be used to minimise the appearance of indented scars by filling them out to the level of the rest of the skin.
Dermal fillers for frown lines are not permanent but last several months, after which the solution passes harmlessly through your system as it is broken down. As well as looking natural, the procedure doesn’t require any surgical equipment or procedures, you do not need any recovery time and you will still be able to show expressions as usual.
As with all of our treatments, you will have a free consultation and we will explain proper aftercare with you. To find out more about our dermal filler treatments or to book your free consultation, contact us today and speak to a member of our team.
Filler treatments can be an effective solution to lines and wrinkles, but there can be drawbacks and many of them are permanent so if you aren’t happy with the results or your face changes again, you need to get further treatments to correct them. At The London Cosmetic Clinic in Knightsbridge we offer the Sculptra Liquid Facelift to plump and smooth wrinkles all around the face without any invasive treatments as an alternative.
The Sculptra Liquid Facelift involves precisely injecting poly-l-lactic acid, a substance that has been used for over 25 years in surgical operations, as a volumising agent and to stimulate collagen production, which is needed to give the skin its elasticity. As with all our treatments, you will have a free consultation beforehand where we will assess the condition of your skin and discuss what areas require treatment and how much of the product will be used.
The treatment is non-invasive and requires no general anaesthetic or surgical equipment but we will apply a topical numbing agent to minimise discomfort. The Sculptra solution is then injected into the areas that you would like treated by our doctor and gently massaged into place. The treatment takes around 30 minutes and you should start to notice results after around six weeks. We recommend two or three sessions of the Sculptra Liquid Facelift, depending on the condition of your skin. As well as adding volume to your skin, it stimulates collagen production so your skin continues to repair itself.
Your results will last for approximately two years and the solution will harmlessly pass through your system as it is broken down. You can then decide if you would like the treatment repeatedly. We can treat many areas around the face including nose to mouth lines, the forehead and even on deep scars.

Skin Rejuvenation with the Sculptra Liquid Facelift
It’s really important to get enough sunshine for vitamin D and to boost our mood but too much UV exposure can lead to premature aging and other skin imperfections such as age spots and redness. We use Ellipse IPL skin rejuvenation treatment at the London Cosmetic Clinic in Knightsbridge to help reverse the signs of aging and make skin look more evenly pigmented.
IPL treatment, short for intense pulsed light, involves using various different wavelengths of light on the skin. This is absorbed by the skin and has various effects including stimulating collagen production and breaking down areas of excess melanin (the pigment in the skin) so that age spots and freckles start to disappear. Depending on the area that is being treated and the condition of the skin, you may need up to 6 sessions of our IPL skin rejuvenation treatment, each spaced 4 weeks apart. We will discuss this at your free consultation. The end result is skin that is smoother, more elastic and is more evenly pigmented.
IPL treatments work best on lighter skin tones and we recommend that you avoid sunbeds and use a SPF of at least 30 to avoid any damage to your skin post-treatment. The treatment can make your skin feel a bit tight and hot afterwards but you can apply aloe vera gel to help soothe it. If you would like to know more about our IPL skin rejuvenation treatment or book your free consultation, call us today and speak to a member of our team.
Sometimes the best way of improving your skin is to encourage it to heal itself, which is what our chemical-free, surgery-free dermaroller treatments do. The dermaroller is a hand-held device with a barrel covered in tiny needles which is simply rolled across your skin in various directions and can help improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles as well as acne scars, stretch marks and general dullness in the skin. Also known as micro-needling, the needles of the dermaroller come in various lengths depending on what kind of skin complaint we are using them for and can be used over the body as well as the face.
Prior to the treatment, we apply a numbing cream to minimise discomfort which takes about half an hour to take effect. As the needles are rolled over your face, they make tiny column shaped punctures, about 1-2mm deep, which close very quickly. This slight damage to the skin kickstarts the skin’s natural healing process and stimulates collagen production so the skin starts to repair scar tissue and fine lines are plumped out. It may take up to 6 weeks to start seeing the improvement in your skin but the treatment also boosts blood circulation so your skin will look fresher and brighter.
Straight after treatment your skin may feel slightly tender, as if it has been sunburned so we advise that you only wash it with tepid water for 48 hours post-treatment. We recommend that you have 3 treatment sessions for skin rejuvenation and 5-6 for scar reduction, each spaced 6 weeks apart, but this will also be discussed during your free consultation.

The skin around our eyes is the thinnest and most delicate on the body, which also means that it is prone to fine lines and thinning with age, leaving the area looking dark and sunken. The area under the eyes, known as the tear trough, can be revitalised with the use of dermal fillers if makeup isn’t quite doing the job.
At the London Cosmetic Clinic we use the best quality products available on the market for our injectable dermal fillers. In the case of tear troughs, we tend to use synthetically-created hyaluronic acid to add volume and moisture to the area. Hyaluronic acid is a compound naturally found in the body and we use synthetically created hyaluronic acid in a sterile gel that is completely free of animal or human DNA but still has the same effects as the hyaluronic acid created by the body and is both biocompatible and biodegradable.
Prior to your treatment, you will have a free, non-obligation consultation with our experienced specialist doctor where they will assess the condition of your skin. During this consultation your doctor will also determine the amount of the product required for your desired results and will discuss aftercare treatment with you. The product is injected using cannulas, blunted needles that have a lower risk of bruising or injecting into blood vessels, and is then massaged into place to give a smooth, even result. As the hyaluronic acid adds volume, this makes the skin plumper and lifts it so that it isn’t as close to the blood vessels and therefore the under-eye area does not look as dark and the eyes lose any sunken appearance they have.
As the treatment is non-surgical, you will not have to undergo any general anaesthetic or take time out for recovery time, there is also no risk of scarring or stitches. You will notice a difference straight away and the effects last for around 12 months. After then you can decide whether or not you would like the treatment repeated.

If you have uneven skin tone, dark pigmentation the beginnings of fine lines, open pores or dull, lifeless skin, the best course of action can be to undertake deep exfoliation in the form of a skin peel. One of the skin peel treatments that we offer at the London Cosmetic Clinic is the Obagi Nu-Derm system, a range of prescription strength products that help repair the skin at a cellular level, erase signs of premature aging and speed up the skin’s renewal process.
The Obagi Nu-Derm system was developed by renowned dermatologist Dr Zein E.Obagi in 1988 and, due to its strength and the importance of correct application, it can only be administered by clinics with a special license. The products are carefully administered to ensure that the right pH level is achieved and that the best possible results are obtained. As with all of our treatments, you will have a free consultation first so we can assess the condition of your skin and discuss your desired results.
The first phase of the treatment involves using the products to remove the top few layers of skin. It penetrates the skin and encourages it to shed its top layers, taking along impurities and signs of damage with it. You may notice that your skin feels tighter and slightly itchy during this phase. This first stage lasts approximately 6 to 8 weeks but you may start to notice a difference within 4 to 6 weeks. As the skin produces new skin cells, it also produces more collagen and elastin and is more evenly pigmented, so your skin is smoother, bouncier and flawless looking.
During treatment, we recommend that you use an SPF of at least 30 and avoid excess UV exposure as this can damage the skin further. We also prescribe an aftercare routine so you get the best possible results and your skin continues to look younger and more even. To find out more about the Obagi Nu-Derm System or any of our other anti-aging treatments, contact us today and speak to a member of our team.
Even when we take care of our faces and bodies our hands can still show the signs of premature aging and appear much younger than you are. At the London Cosmetic Clinic we can make your
hands look youthful again with the use of high quality dermal fillers.
There are two main fillers that we use on the hands and they both have different effects. The first is Juvederm which is based on syntheticallycreated, biocompatible Hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic
acid is a compound that is naturally found in the skin and attracts water so, when used on the skin, it makes it more moisturised and regain its bounce. This can help improve the appearance of
crepey looking skin on the backs of the hands. The other dermal filler used is Radiesse, which contains tiny beads of calcium hydroxylapatite in a gel. This is injected as a ball and then massaged into
the grooves of your hands to provide a ‘scaffolding’ in boney, sinewy hands that have lost their fat padding. This also encourages the skin to produce more collagen so the condition of the skin is improved. The effects last up to 2 years.
Prior to your treatment we will numb the area to minimise any discomfort and afterwards you will not have to take any down time to recover but we do recommend that you keep the area clean
with plain water and avoid products like perfumed soap and hand cream to avoid irritation. You should also avoid vitamin E, arnica, St.John’s wort and aspirin and ibuprofen to avoid swelling. If
you would like younger looking hands and are considering Juvederm or Radiesse treatments, contact us today to book your free consultation.
Skin imperfections such as moles and cysts can appear anywhere on the body which, although harmless the majority of the time, can make you feel self-conscious and harm your self-esteem. At the London Cosmetic Clinic we have a range of treatments to remove these with minimal scarring.
Like all of our treatments, we give a free consultation to assess the severity of the mole, cyst or skin tag and determine the best course of action. We may send a sample of it to a laboratory for histology testing so any abnormal cells can be detected early but in the vast majority of occasions skin imperfections are harmless.
The main types of treatment are-
Hyfrecater treatment- A low-powered piece of medical apparatus that destroys tissue. This only takes a few minutes and is used for a variety of purposes including the removal of warts, moles and skin tags.
Shave excision- Most often used on moles and skin tags, this involves using a dermablade to shave the mole from the skin. It leaves a small superficial wound but does not require any stitches. We cauterise the area to control any bleeding and healing only takes a week or two.
Ellipse excision- This is usually used on cysts and deep moles as it involves making an incision to remove them completely. We close the wound with stitches and the treatment takes around 20-30 minutes.
Prior to treatment we will administer a local anaesthetic so you will not feel any pain or discomfort during the procedure and afterwards will discuss aftercare. If you take care of the area correctly there will be absolutely minimal scarring, if any. Contact us today if you have a mole, wart or other skin lesion you would like to see gone so you can show your skin with confidence.
Even with regular exfoliation and a good skincare regime, sometimes our skin needs extra refreshing to help it look smooth, fresh and supple which can be achieved with a medium-level chemical peel. Whilst superficial peels can be conducted with the use of retinol A and mild natural acids, we can give more radical results with the Obagi skincare system. The Obagi system rejuvenates skin and can reduce hyperpigmentation as well as reversing the signs of premature aging and UV damage.
Developed by dermatologist Dr.Zein Obagi, the Obagi Nu Derm system is a carefully balanced mixture of chemicals that encourage the skin to shed several of its outermost layers to reveal fresh, new skin underneath. There are imitation products on the internet but as it is prescription strength it is important that it is supplied and applied by a licensed professional such as our practitioner.
Before treatment begins you have a free consultation to assess the condition of your skin and your desired results. Due to the nature of the treatment your skin will be more vulnerable to UV damage so it is crucial that you use an SPF of at least 35 following it. For about 6 to 8 weeks your skin will shed its top layers and reveal fresh, new skin which is more even, smoother and more supple.

Not that long ago Botulinum toxin injections had a bad reputation for looking false and giving a frozen, emotionless expression but can you actually get the wrinkle busting effects from these anti-aging injections whilst looking natural? At the London Cosmetic Clinic we have proven that you can!
At our Knightsbridge-based clinic we focus on making you look like the best possible version of yourself so we work with your natural features to achieve the best results. Our practitioners have several years of experience on over a thousand patients administering anti-aging injections so know how to utilise it to get great results that boosts the patient’s appearance without looking false or too ‘done’.
During your consultation we will carefully analyse your face, focussing on any ‘trouble zones’ that make you feel self-conscious and determine what results are achievable. We also ask you to pull several different expressions so that we can see how your muscles move naturally and which motions are causing the skin to wrinkle; this is key to making sure we use the right amount of the Botulinum toxin and getting it precisely in the right areas. As it works by stopping the nerve impulses moving the muscles, the less the muscles move, the less they can cause the skin to wrinkle. We have found that using small amounts placed in a precise manner helps to get great results without making patients look too ‘done’. You may not see a noticeable difference straight after the treatment but over a couple of weeks you should start to see an improvement.
We use only the best quality ingredients and our practitioners have years of training and experience so you know that you are in good hands. You will look more youthful and relaxed without looking like a waxwork model!
